Goshen Health Announces Letter of Intent to Partner with Parkview Health

Goshen Health announced today that its Board has entered into a Letter of Intent to pursue a partnership with Parkview Health, the regional leader in healthcare across northeast Indiana. The decision reflects Goshen Health’s responsibility to ensure that high-quality, local healthcare remains available to this community for generations to come.

Through this partnership, Goshen anticipates becoming Parkview’s largest hospital outside of Fort Wayne and will serve as a regional hub for care, access, and growth. Together, the organizations will work to strengthen clinical services, expand access to care, support clinical excellence, and build a strong, sustainable healthcare system for the future.

“For more than 100 years, Goshen Health has served this community with compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence,” said Randy Christophel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Goshen Health. “Our priority and community responsibility have always been about making sure patients receive excellent care close to home. Today’s healthcare environment requires us to act proactively to ensure our community continues to have access to the care, services, and specialists it needs now and in the future.”

Christophel emphasized that the decision was made after careful and deliberate consideration.

“This decision was not made lightly,” he said. “Our Board approached it with seriousness and a deep sense of accountability to this community. Partnering with Parkview Health, a regional leader that shares our mission and values, is the most responsible way to strengthen local care and ensure Goshen Health remains strong for generations to come.”

Leaders from both organizations emphasized the shared values and long-term commitment to community care that form the foundation of the partnership.

“The team at Goshen Health has so much to be proud of,” said Dr. Ray Dusman, President of Physician and Clinical Enterprise at Parkview Health. “What they’ve built in Elkhart County is truly incredible, and we at Parkview are honored to be a part of their bright future. We look forward to continuing to build on the strong foundation of high-quality care this community has come to expect from Goshen Health.”

The partnership process will begin with a 90-day due diligence period, followed by a regulatory review process. Any final agreement will be subject to the successful completion of due diligence, regulatory approvals, and final Board authorization.

There are no immediate changes to patient care, services, staffing, or day-to-day operations as a result of today’s announcement. Goshen Health’s hospital, clinics, services, and care teams will continue operating as they do today.

Goshen Health is committed to transparency and will share updates as they become available at goshenhealth.com/partnership.
