Goshen Community Schools Launches Summer Improvement Projects Across the District

While students begin their summer break, crews across Goshen Community Schools are getting to work on one of the district’s busiest summers of facility improvements in recent years. 

Beginning June 1, dozens of maintenance, renovation, and infrastructure projects will take place across the district to improve learning environments, enhance safety, modernize facilities, and prepare buildings for the 2026-27 school year. 

Some of the largest projects this summer include: 

• A new roof over the Choir and Industrial Technology areas at Goshen High School
• Three roof replacements and major HVAC control upgrades at Goshen Junior High School
• Reconstruction of the south parking lot at Goshen Junior High School 
• Replacement of the chiller system at Parkside Elementary 
• A new preschool playground structure at Chamberlain Elementary 
• New ADA-accessible playground equipment at Model Elementary 
• Main gym floor refinishing at Goshen High School 
• Bathroom renovations and classroom updates at Goshen High School 
• District-wide wayfinding signage improvements at multiple schools 
• Hallway painting, flooring, and classroom upgrades across several elementary schools 

In addition to these larger projects, crews will complete numerous improvements including playground enhancements, flooring replacements, drainage projects, concrete repairs, classroom upgrades, landscaping improvements, new furniture installations, and technology infrastructure updates. 

“Our facilities team works year-round to maintain our buildings, but summer provides an opportunity to tackle larger projects that have a direct impact on our students and staff,” said Director of Facilities Don Ritter. “We’re excited to invest in our schools and continue creating learning environments that support student success.” 

Many of the projects are expected to be completed before students return in August, ensuring schools are ready to welcome students back for another successful year.
