Goodwill Announces Military Veteran Stand Downs Across Six Northern Indiana Counties

Goodwill Industries of Michiana’s Veterans Resource Network will host  six military veteran Stand Down events across Northern Indiana in 2026. Events will be held in St. Joseph, Elkhart, Marshall, Kosciusko, Porter and La Porte Counties.  

Goodwill’s Veteran’s Resource Network connects service members, veterans, their families and their caregivers  to community resources that provide essential support to homeless, at-risk, and unemployed veterans. Events  offer food, clothing, medical care, mental health resources, job counseling, and more, ensuring that those who  have served receive the help they deserve. “Through the generosity of our community – including those who  shop at and donate to Goodwill – we can continue to empower veterans with critical resources to build brighter  futures. We are thrilled to host six Stand Downs again this year, to connect more veterans and their families with  the support they need,” said Jill Powers, manager of Goodwill’s Veterans Resource Network.  

2026 Stand Down Schedule: 

• May 16: Kosciusko County, Manahan Orthopedic Capital Center, 610 Wooster Rd., Winona Lake
• June 13: Elkhart County, Oxbow Park, 23033 C.R. 45, Goshen  
• July 11: St. Joseph County, Century Center, 120 S. Dr. M.L.K. Blvd., South Bend  
• August 15: La Porte County, La Porte Civic Auditorium, 1001 Ridge St., La Porte 
• September 19: Porter County, Ivy Tech Community College, 3100 Ivy Tech Dr., Valparaiso
• October 24: Marshall County, Autopark Sports Complex, 2923 Vanvactor Dr., Plymouth  

All events will be held from 11:00 am-3:00 pm local time.
