Franciscan Health Olympia Fields has named Joan Culver as its chief nursing officer, the hospital announced today.
Culver, MS, BSN, RN, NE-BC, began her career with Franciscan Alliance in 1999 as a nurse technician before becoming a registered nurse in 2001 and working in the labor and delivery unit.
Since then, she has served in key roles across Franciscan’s Northern Indiana and South Suburban Chicago divisions, including charge nurse, quality manager, administrative director of Women and Children’s services and director of Patient Care Services.
“Joan is recognized as a strong, values-driven leader who will guide our nursing program toward continued excellence,” Franciscan Health Olympia Fields Interim President and CEO Frank McHugh said. “Her strategic vision and commitment to quality care will strengthen patient outcomes, advance organizational priorities and ensure alignment with our initiatives.”
Prior to joining Franciscan Health Olympia Fields, Culver gained valuable clinical experience at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation in Chicago and IU Heath in Indianapolis.
“This diverse background brings a well-rounded perspective that will strengthen our organization and positively impact the communities we are privileged to serve,” McHugh said.
Culver has served as the interim chief nursing officer at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields since July.
“It is an honor to serve as the chief nursing officer at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields,” Culver said. “I am committed to supporting our teams as we continue to deliver safe, compassionate care with a focus on clinical excellence.”
