The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi’s Four Winds Casino South Bend transformed the Ribbon Town Conference and Event Center on Friday, October 31, for the 3rd annual Monster Bash. Around 300 guests, aged 21 and over, kicked off the holiday with electric music, fierce dancing, and high-energy costumes.
“The casino is a great, already fun and exciting environment to be in, but we want to be able to put on a party where anybody can come and enjoy their Halloween night,” said Four Winds Entertainment Manager Hannah Colford.
The 24,000-square-foot center opened its doors at 7 p.m. Guests kept the dance floor busy as DJ H2 and the live band Party Foul played on stage with timeless tracks from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Guests unleashed their creativity, filling the hall with costumes that ranged from 1920s flappers and cops to Disney’s Aladdin, La Calavera Catrina, and characters from Alice in Wonderland and Wicked.
The Monster Bash featured a costume contest that awarded $1,000 in prizes. The first-place winner received a $5400 Four Winds Gift Card, the second-place winner earned $300, and the third-place winner won $200. All three of the evening’s winners were selected by the roaring wave of audience applause.
It’s really all about the guests, because the more the guests participate, and go crazy with their costumes, then this becomes more and more exciting,” Colford said.
General admission tickets cost $15, while VIP tickets cost $40, plus fees. VIP access granted early entry, light hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and a private cash bar. Many guests purchased hotel room packages along with their event tickets to take their Halloween fever into the weekend.
“Every year it gets bigger and better,” said Colford. “We want you to come on out and have a fun time with themed drinks, the music, and the lively atmosphere. You won’t regret it.”
The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi operates Four Winds Casinos in New Buffalo, Hartford, Dowagiac, and South Bend. Events like Monster Bash offer entertainment that supports the Pokagon Band’s community development initiatives. Upcoming attractions for South Bend include the ‘80s Prom on Friday, January 16, featuring My ‘80s Band, and a ‘90s Party on Friday, February 27, with entertainment from DJ JellieFish and Forrest Run.
General admission tickets cost $25, and VIP tickets sell for $45, which includes soft seating and a private cash bar. Tickets for both events go on sale Friday, November 7, at 10 a.m. Eastern Standard Time through Ticketmaster.
“We put the importance on not only having fun, but creating a safe environment for all involved,” Colford said. “We want you to be able to come enjoy your Halloween night, have fun, but also be in a safe space.”
