Reimaging and reinventing the Lerner on the Lawn series, Art Walk After Hours builds on its legacy with a fresh twist inviting the community to extend their Art Walk evenings with live music, energy, and connection under the summer sky. Hosted on Central Green, the series offers a vibrant, festival-style atmosphere that celebrates both regional talent and the spirit of Downtown Elkhart.

Each installment of Art Walk After Hours will transport audiences through time with its theme: “Each show opens a portal to a different era.” From the iconic sounds of the 1980s and 1990s to the hits of the 2000s and today, the series promises an engaging, crowd-driven experience where music lovers can relive their favorite decades and discover something new. Specific artists and themed lineups for each date will be announced soon, giving attendees even more to look forward to throughout the season.

Designed as a space “where the fans have a voice,” the series emphasizes community engagement, encouraging attendees to be part of the experience while spotlighting the region’s dynamic music scene.

Presented in partnership with the City of Elkhart, Elkhart County CVB, Downtown Elkhart, Elkhart Parks & Recreation, Friends of The Lerner, Community Foundation of Elkhart County, and Elkhart Music Town, the series embodies the spirit of “Live. Local. Loud.”

Attendees are encouraged to enjoy the traditional Art Walk festivities throughout downtown before heading to Central Green  for performances beginning at 7:30 p.m. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs or blankets to relax and enjoy the show. Admission is free and open to the public.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase from local vendors, creating a full evening experience in the heart of the city.

About The Lerner Theatre:

The Lerner Theatre, an Elkhart landmark, is part of a revival, a new era for the arts, commerce and life in the heart of our community. The Lerner Theatre is a 100-year-old city owned and operated facility, built in 1924. With the completion of an $18-million-dollar renovation in 2011, The Lerner Theatre has truly put the “heart” back in downtown Elkhart. The Lerner is evidence of this rebirth with its timeless, never-lost quality of an old theatre reborn as a state of the art performance and event facility.
