Positive news keeps piling up for Elkhart County’s tourism and hospitality industry.
A recent statewide report showed that visitors to Elkhart County spent 6.4 percent more in 2024 than in 2023. That growth rate outperformed statewide numbers and also placed Elkhart County 11th in the state for that metric.
Our own reports for 2025 show even more signs of forward momentum. While we’re awaiting final numbers on our study of tourism’s economic impact for 2025, one indicator, hotel room stays, showed that Elkhart County set an all-time record in room nights sold, at more than 680,000. That reflects a continued growth trajectory that was only disrupted by the COVID pandemic.
We’ll update you after we get the final report that will detail how much visitors to Elkhart County spent here in 2025 and how much economic activity was multiplied across our communities and found their way into our residents’ pocketbooks.
