Comcast Expands High-Speed Internet Network in Marshall County

More than 1,300 Additional Local Homes and Businesses Now Have Access to Comcast’s Full Suite of Xfinity Residential and Comcast Business Services

Comcast today announced it has expanded its next-generation network in Marshall County, Indiana. The expansion brings the company’s full suite of Xfinity residential and Comcast Business services, including multi-gigabit, symmetrical Internet to more than 1,300 homes and businesses in unincorporated northwest Marshall County that were previously unserved or underserved. The expansion includes locations in Polk, North, Center, and West Townships.

“Comcast’s expansion in Marshall County brings residents and businesses a fast, reliable broadband option that keeps our community connected and competitive,” said Stan Klotz, President of the Marshall County Commissioners. “As Marshall County continues to grow, expanded broadband access will strengthen local opportunities and enhance quality of life.”

Comcast’s investment in Marshall County was made in partnership with the State of Indiana’s Next Level Connections Broadband Grant Program, which has invested $350 million toward improving broadband access and adoption in the state. Including Marshall County, the partnership has recently expanded Internet access to more than 4,600 unserved and underserved residents and businesses in in Bartholomew, Carroll, Fayette, Hamilton, Johnson, and Morgan counties.

Comcast’s expansion in Marshall County is part of the company’s latest investment in Northern Indiana, following network expansions in La Porte and Porter counties earlier this year. Over the last three years, Comcast has invested $634 million in its network in Indiana.

Comcast’s more than10,000miles of fiber-rich network infrastructure across Northern Indiana allows the company to offer Internet speeds faster than a gigabit to residential and business customers in its service footprint. In addition, Comcast has more than 150,000 WiFi hotspots in Northern Indiana and more than 23 million nationwide, helping customers stay connected while on the go.
