Comcast today announced $75,000 in cash contributions to  support disaster relief and ongoing recovery efforts across Indiana following the historic August storms, including the derecho and tornadoes that impacted Northwest Indiana and the flooding that affected Central Indiana. Comcast funding will support the American Red Cross Indiana Region’s Storms Fund, with additional support provided to the Legacy Foundation to assist impacted residents and strengthen recovery efforts in Lake County.

“As communities across Indiana recover from the devastating August storms, we are grateful for partners like Comcast. Their support of our disaster relief efforts helps ensure Hoosiers have access to critical resources when they need them most,” said Terry Stigdon, CEO of the American Red Cross Indiana Region. “This generous contribution will help us continue providing shelter, meals, relief supplies, and other essential assistance to individuals and families affected by the storms across the state.”

Hundreds of American Red Cross disaster volunteers have been supporting impacted communities by establishing emergency shelters, distributing meals and relief supplies, and providing critical resources throughout the rebuilding process.

“Indiana’s municipal leaders have been working around the clock to coordinate storm response efforts and support residents impacted by severe weather,” said Matt Greller, CEO of Accelerate Indiana Municipalities. “Comcast’s contribution provides meaningful support as communities work to restore normalcy and address lingering needs following these devastating storms.”

“Recovering from severe weather is a long-term effort that requires coordination, investment, and community commitment,” said Dave Bottorff, Executive Director of the Association of Indiana Counties. “We are grateful for Comcast’s investment and its commitment to helping Hoosiers regain stability and move forward.”

Comcast has a long history supporting disaster response and recovery in the communities it serves. In addition to financial support, the company partners with local organizations to help communities recover following natural disasters and severe weather events.

“The recent storms had a profound impact on communities across Indiana and we’re proud to support the American Red Cross as it helps families and communities across the state recover from the aftermath of these storms,” said Joni Hart, Vice President of Government & Community Affairs for Comcast Indiana.
