The City of Hobart will host the return of Water Fest on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Robinson Lake, bringing back a community-focused event that connects residents with local ecosystems, environmental partners, and hands-on learning opportunities.
“Water Fest gives residents a chance to experience and better understand the natural resources that make Hobart unique,” said Mayor Josh Huddlestun. “Bringing this event back is an important step in continuing our efforts to promote environmental stewardship, education, and community connection.”
Water Fest will take place at Robinson Lake, located at 5227 S. Liverpool Road in Hobart. Admission is free and open to the public.
“Participants can expect a range of experiences, including wildlife education, environmental demonstrations, resource-sharing from local and regional partners, and informational giveaways designed to support continued learning beyond the event,” Tim Kingsland, Hobart Sanitary District Coordinator, said.
Organizations such as the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, Save the Dunes, and Shirley Heinze Land Trust are among those collaborating with the City of Hobart to provide programming and information. Additional support is provided by Davey Resource Group, Wessler Engineering, Inc., and Butler, Fairman & Seufert, Inc.
Environmental organizations interested in participating are encouraged to contact Russel Brodhacker at russb@cityofhobart.org.
A longtime community event, Water Fest returns after a hiatus since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event reintroduces a space for residents of all ages to engage with the natural resources that define Hobart’s landscape. Water Fest will feature interactive exhibits, educational activities, and opportunities to connect directly with organizations dedicated to environmental stewardship.
The event supports the City’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, environmental awareness, and accessible community programming centered around Hobart’s parks and natural spaces.
Residents are encouraged to attend, explore, and take part in a day that highlights the importance of water resources and their role in Hobart’s environment and quality of life.
