CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana’s committed team members prioritize bringing the best products and services to customers in the Region

With more than 800 reviews on Google and a 4.9 out of 5 stars average, CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana puts the customer first in every project they work on. In order to maintain this positive reputation in the Region, the company has assembled a team of employees who are devoted to bringing their customers the best products and services.

CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana started in 2013. Founded by John Jordan, he originally began the business from the basement of his home. The company has continued growing since then, opening a new stand alone location Crown Point in 2023 and bringing a reliable cast of team members on board.

Jamie Heintz is an office coordinator for CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana. She worked 4 ½  years with the company before she left. However, her absence was short-lived as she has since been back with the company for three years and counting.

“I got started with the company in 2016, but made a change in 2020” Heintz said. “When I came back in 2022, it was from an advertisement that I saw on Indeed. I was in the market for a job and spoke to John, who is the owner and president of the company. After speaking with him, we decided it was a good idea for me to come back. Now I’ve been with the company for more than seven years.”

During the time she was away from the company, one of the biggest things that Heintz missed was the work environment. To Heintz, CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana has a community-centric culture that prioritizes values that every good company needs.

“We really are a family here,” Heintz said. “We have a lot of core values that I really resonate with. This includes delivering what you promise, respecting the individual, having pride in what you do, practicing continuous improvements, and embracing possibilities. They fit not just into my work life but also my personal life.

Another member of this work family who has logged more than seven years with CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana is Daniel Tirpak. As the senior residential sales consultant, Tirpak got his start with the company in 2018. Similar to Heintz, he first found out about his opportunity from a job advertisement.

“I sat down with John and a few other members of the team and had a couple good interviews,” Tirpak said. “It was an industry that I was familiar with, so it felt like a comfortable move, and it’s been a great experience.”

Recently, the company had a customer appreciation lunch at the office. This included a food truck with invites sent to hundreds of customers.

“We’re always reaching out to our customers to show appreciation to them, for their business with us, and for the relationships we’ve built with them,” Tirpak said. “We had a really good turnout at the customer appreciation lunch. I had several customers who I got to sit down with, eat lunch, and strengthen those relationships. I’ve never seen any type of company have this kind of event where we reach out personally to the customers to celebrate with them, which is why it’s my favorite event that we done so far.”

Since starting up the company, Jordan has focused his efforts on leadership and strategy, as well as sales in both the residential and commercial divisions. One of the longstanding team members who has assisted in the leadership department is Mark Powers, the vice president of operations. Powers has been with the company for 11 years, starting in 2014.

“I worked with John in his last business before starting CertaPro, so he knew I came from a background of service-based operations in the home improvement industry,” Powers said. “We sat down and discussed the potential of this company, and I agreed to come on as a production associate, at the time.”

More than a decade later, Powers has found a home with CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana. He looks forward to every opportunity he gets to connect with not only their customers, but also the team members who often spend time together outside of the office. Over the years, the company has participated in golf outings, home shows, the Valparaiso Popcorn Festival, and the Crown Point Corn Roast, amongst others.

“It really starts with our Certainty Service System, which is where we get to have that first contact with our customers,” Powers said. “We’re always asking questions to learn more about them, their family, and why the project is important to them. Our customer appreciation lunch event was a great way for us to have conversations with them while enjoying food and beverages. We’ll also participate in local community events, sponsorship programs, and fundraisers.”

CertaPro Painters of Northwest Indiana has made it a point of emphasis to meet its customers on a personal level. The company has a team of committed members who strive for growth and excellence every day.

“We have pride in what we do and we encourage people to go online and review us,” Heintz said. “It allows us to continue making improvements. We respect our customers, and our leadership team led by John is always there in case people need help with anything.”

“It’s a tight-knit group here,” Tirpak added. “We get to celebrate everything we do with the staff, our families, and our customers. We have Christmas parties every year as well. I’ve never worked for a company quite like this before. Many large corporations don’t even do things like this. Working side-by-side with an owner and having access to everybody makes this a great place to be.”

“We all have a common goal of delivering extraordinary experiences to our customers,” Powers said. “As leadership, that’s our number one commitment. The team is incredible, and nobody is afraid to step in to help colleagues out when they need to. As a company, it’s about actively promoting a culture built on integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement. That’s really the name of the game.”
