As America celebrates its 250th birthday, Northern Indiana is alive with parades, parties, and more to honor the storied history of our country. For more than two centuries, Indiana has been a crossroads for everything American, connecting east to west and north to south with canals, rails, and roads, and that connection is abundantly clear in Northern Indiana.

With its own history as a manufacturing powerhouse, Northern Indiana has led folks from all walks of life to settle down and create a home. No matter our differences, we are all united in a love of our community and country.

City of Michigan City Patriotic Parade 2026

Incorporated in 1836, Michigan City is home to some of Indiana’s most famous historical sites, including Indiana’s only functioning lighthouse. Located alongside Lake Michigan, Michigan City is a hub of business for the Region, the perfect middle point between Chicago and South Bend.

City of Lake Station 4th of July Parade 2026

Lake Station was the site of the first train station in Lake County and the original county seat. Founded in 1851, the city has always been a stop on the path to Chicago to the west, Detroit to the north, or the East Coast. While the railcars aren’t as popular as they once were, Lake Station continues to thrive with a bright future ahead.
