AJ Portable Buildings Salesman Zachary Wilson strengthens history of customer satisfaction at Mishawaka location

AJ Portable Buildings has been a trusted name in sheds, carports, and other steel structures for many years. Owner Patrick Dykes has a mission of providing Yoder structures to residents of Northwest Indiana as well as neighboring areas of Illinois and Michigan, with business constantly growing in multiple locations.

One reason the company is rated so highly in customer satisfaction is due to employees like Zachary Wilson. Since November 2024, Wilson has been leading the sales team at the Mishawaka office. It was the perfect fit for Wilson, who takes great pride in putting a smile on people’s faces.

“I was working on a production line for a range hood plant and just got tired of doing the same old thing,” Wilson said. “I drove by one day and saw one of Pat’s ‘Now Hiring’ signs. I gave him a call, and he gave me a shot to be a salesperson for the first time ever. It was nice to know that Pat was willing to give me a shot.”

Wilson is a natural problem-solver, and one of his favorite challenges is finding solutions for customers who come in not knowing what they need or want. He finds joy in showing them multiple options and helping them feel like they have all the information they need to make the right decision. Customers can always expect a smile, a handshake, and an easy-going but focused attitude through their experience.

“It’s kind of an adrenaline rush selling people buildings and seeing smiles on their face, knowing that they’re getting the best quality product that they can possibly get for their money,” Wilson said.

Wilson believes that AJ Portable Buildings is the best possible choice for anyone seeking portable outdoor buildings. With customer service available six days a week, people can come by or call around their schedules and there will be representatives waiting to help them with any questions they might have or any assistance needed.

“If you have any type of problem, we’re always available on the phone,” said Wilson. “It definitely puts customers at ease. We have unmatched warranties throughout, across the board, for our entire buildings that really no other shed company can even hold a candle to. Kind of makes the job easy to give people such a quality building with knowing that they have all this coverage.”

Wilson considers his job as a salesperson to be a fulfilling career where he can use his strengths to assist people. Smiling, helping, and talking to anyone he crosses paths with comes naturally to him. He believes being able to use these in his professional life is a privilege.

“My hope is that everyone steps in with a smile on their face and leaves with the same exact smile, if not a bigger one,” Wilson said. “I like the interactions with each individual person. You get to meet a lot of new personalities, and everything comes with its challenges, but it’s all about being able to adjust and pivot and work out what’s going to be best for the customer.”
