Art Scholarship Offered to Porter County Seniors

The Association of Artists and Craftsmen of Porter County is offering a $500 scholarship to a Porter County high school senior graduating in the class of 2014 and planning to attend college to major in art or art education. Applicants will need to submit a typewritten letter of intent, including which school you will be attending, why the interest in art, and what the future art-related plans may be.
Applications requires a portfolio including both 3D and matted 2-D pieces. Also, a variety of sketchbooks are requested with the application. Sketchbooks should reflect a variety of creative concepts personal to each student. All materials must be submitted by Friday, May 9 before 4 p.m. A winner will be announced on Monday, May 12 and all applications should be picked up that day.
