Kenneth J. Allen and Allen Law Group Donate $15,000 to Gary Club Kids

Injury Attorney Kenneth J. Allen and Allen Law Group are donating $15,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana (BGCGNWI ) to help provide club access for youth in the Gary community. Allen Law Group’s donation will be earmarked for transportation to and from the John Will Anderson Boys & Girls Club for an entire year.

Transportation remains one of the greatest barriers preventing youth from accessing safe, affordable afterschool programs. BGCGNWI currently provides daily transport to and from approximately 17 Gary area public and charter schools, helping ensure Club kids can travel directly from school to the John Will Anderson Boys & Girls Club as well as to enriching experiences over the summertime.

“This partnership is about so much more than putting fuel in our buses. It is about access,” said Mike Jessen, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana. “Allen Law Group’s investment helps ensure transportation is not the reason a child misses out on a safe place after school, homework help, a meal, mentorship or opportunities to reach their full potential.”

“The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Northwest Indiana is critical to our community, especially for parents whose work schedule prevents them from being home by the end of the school day,” Allen said, “by providing supervised afterschool care, parents and guardians can have peace of mind that their children are safe as they finish their workday.”

Reliable transportation is necessary to allow Club kids to access these programs and the support offered by Injury Attorney Allen and Allen Law Group removed a critical barrier for Gary youth and families while ensuring more young people have access to a safe place to learn, grow and belong. “Because of the high cost of diesel, we felt an urgency to step up and help,” Injury Attorney Allen said.
