The City of Valparaiso invites the public to an Open House to preview the updated vision for the Eastside Campus Master Plan that serve as a guide for future development in the area between 500 North and 400 North.
The Open House will take place on Tuesday, March 31, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Valparaiso City Hall, 166 Lincolnway.
“After several public input sessions, community comments and survey feedback, the stakeholder group worked closely with our consultants at Browning Day to craft a thoughtful, forward-looking vision for the Eastside,” said Valparaiso Development Director George Douglas. “We look forward to sharing the updated vision plan and continuing the conversation with the community.”
The draft Master Plan reflects extensive community engagement, incorporating feedback from residents, as well as a stakeholder group including representatives from Eastside study area property owners, elected officials, members of the Valparaiso Redevelopment Commission, school board representatives and city staff.
The public will have the opportunity to review proposed land use concepts as well as a conceptual pathway/trail network interconnecting the campus. The vision emphasizes public/private open space, including future park space, as well as development priorities fronting SR 49 and along Memorial Parkway extension. The overall plan is designed to guide future growth while supporting connectivity, accessibility and long-term community goals.
The City of Valparaiso and the Valparaiso Redevelopment Commission partnered with Browning Day, an Indianapolis-based architecture, planning and urban design firm known for its collaborative approach and innovative solutions, to develop the Master Campus Plan.
