Employees return to NITCO for family atmosphere and recognition of hard work

As a family-owned company, NITCO consistently strives to promote a family-oriented company culture. The company’s core values contribute to NITCO being highly regarded as a great place to work with favorable employee retention.

“NITCO has a 90-year history of being a family-oriented company,” said NITCO CEO Tom Long. “I have firsthand knowledge of how important family is to the owner,”

This emphasis on family extends to the company’s employees. In the rare case that an employee leaves NITCO, they often find they miss the company’s culture and they return to NITCO.

“We have had many employees leave us over the years only to return, some within just one week,” said Long. “When you leave NITCO to join another company, the uniqueness of NITCO becomes very clear.  Sometimes, the grass is not always greener out there.”

When Mark Craig left NITCO for another technician role, he soon found that his new employer was not following through with many of their initial employment promises, including the promised amount of his 90-day bonus.

This, along with missing the NITCO team, ultimately prompted Craig to return to NITCO.

“I did miss my co-workers,” said Craig. “This was one of the reasons I returned.”

Technician Eddie Reyes returned to NITCO after departing. He missed both his work and the team.

“Coming back, I was grateful because everyone at NITCO is amazing,” Reyes said. “We have a great team. We’re all willing to help each other when needed, and I’m able to combine that with loving what I do for a living.”

Even Long left only to return to NITCO thanks to its culture of treating employees like family and recognizing their efforts.

“It’s the environment that values hard work and dedication and appreciates employees that draws individuals back to NITCO,” said Steve Vincent, NITCO Field Manager.

Certainly, NITCO’s work environment is one-of-a-kind. NITCO’s appreciation for its employees and their home life is well-established. This really sets the organization apart.

“In my observation, NITCO is very unique with its family-oriented mindset,” said Long. “Of all of the companies I’ve worked for, NITCO has done this the best. I’ve been here for 24 years and would love to be here another 24!”
