LCEA provides an outlet for growing businesses and industries in Lake County communities

The Lake County Economic Alliance (LCEA) is an organization that provides over 500,000 residents with promoted stability, growth and development. As businesses and industries continue to form and flourish in Northwest Indiana, the LCEA provides key links to contacts that will create the most favorable outcome for growth. The organization benefits members from city communities such as Hammond, Dyer, Schererville, Hobart, Merrillville, and Crown Point.

Bailey Tombers, Vice President of Business Development with the LCEA, notes how the organization makes a motivated effort to work with these communities.

“We field various leads for all of the communities in Lake County, including those from Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) as well as through direct contacts,” Tombers said.

Building a business community, creating benefits, and supporting those who are eager to learn about the LCEA is a large part of its success.

“The benefit of being involved is the connections that are created,” Tombers said. “Ultimately, being connected to people with a vested interest in development in Lake County is how the community grows. We’re all pulling from the same rope. We’re all heading in the same direction to be a pro-business county overall.”

Over the years, member expansion has been a critical component of what makes the LCEA a well-oiled organization. Having all of the Lake County communities on board with the pathway to growth and strong leadership helps create a lasting impact throughout the county.

The LCEA has 50 investors who work toward supporting the organization’s mission. Many partners and clients of the LCEA have even created testimonials to share with the business community how important it is to get involved.

“The mission overall is to drive good growth,” Tombers said. “By having partners and members that are motivated by good growth and doing good business, we’re able to hold everybody to a higher standard. There’s a common phrase that the rising tide raises all ships, and that’s the goal.”

With all the partners, investors, and members of the LCEA, there’s a lot of optimism and excitement for developments in the near future.

“We’ve increasingly had more municipal members added on, which is great to see all of Lake County really taking a developmental mindset,” Tombers said. “Continuing to work with member and non-member communities for positive growth that people want to see is the most exciting part as we look forward to the rest of the year.”
