Girls Soccer, Volleyball, Boys Tennis, and Cross Country All in Action Last Night for Portage
The girls’ soccer team gave an outstanding performance last night beating the LaPorte slicers 3-2. Kayla Burns, Abbey Spicer and Nicki Monahan 1 goal, Nicki Monahan 1 assist and Lauren Zack 12 saves.
Volleyball lost in 4 to Valpo (8-25, 19-25, 25-13, 12-25) Abby Alexander 15 digs, Mariah Wright 9 kills and 12 digs, Lauren Winicky 11 assists, 8 digs.
JV lost 10-25, 15-25
Freshman lost 25-22, 13-25, 6-15
Boys’ varsity tennis team won 4-1 at M’ville improving their record to 10-1 and 4-1 DAC. Jeff McElfresh won in 3 sets at No 1 singles, John Fannin and Zach Smith won at no 2 and 3 singles. Chris Klenk and C.J. Haupt won 6-0, 6-0 at no 2 doubles. JV won 5-0.
Girls’ CC split their meet with L.C. and C.P. The Indians defeated C.P. but lost to L.C. Top five finishers: Paige Pizer, Kyra Ball, Janee Escobedo, Erin Reynolds and Mariah Blackwell.
The portage boys xc team went 1-1 last night with a victory over lame central but a loss against cp. outstanding performances by Anthony best, tylor Hudson, and tommy Martin.
