Area Baseball Players at Manchester College Going to World Series

Two area players currently playing baseball at Manchester College will compete in the NCAA Division 3 College World Series starting Friday and continuing through May 28.
Michigan City High School graduate Jordan Niemann and John Glenn graduate Sean Liedtky.
Niemann has a .339 batting average and has 64 hits (17 doubles, 11 homeruns) and leads the team with 70 runs batted in that is first in the nation in Division 3. Niemann also has a .913 fielding percentage.
Among the team categories, Niemann is first in slugging percentage (.646), at-bats (189), total bases (122), home runs (11) triples (4), sacrifice flies (4).
Niemann is third in hits (64), doubles (17) and hit by pitch (12). He is fourth in runs scored (42) and total plate appearances (216).
Liedtky has appeared in five games in relief and is 1-0 with a 1.08 earned-run average. He has given up four hits in 8 1/3 innings of work while walking four and striking out five. He has not given up a home run all season.
The Spartans (39-5-1), are ranked No. 9 by D3Baseball.com and No. 12 by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
